As we stated a few days ago, we had some big news coming for
Footage By Thecoolshoeshine. Today, we
can announce that our Footage shop in Fullerton is on the move AGAIN! When we moved in to our current location
almost two years ago, we thought the 1200 square foot facility in the heart of
Downtown Fullerton would be our home for years and years to come, but just as
we did our first shop in Brea, we have also outgrown our current location.
We considered the idea of opening another shop in the area
to showcase our apparel and miscellaneous consignment merchandise, but
concluded that it would not be cost effective for our company and also less
convenient for our customers to have two separate shops. With those two things in mind, along with the
hope that our company continues to grow at the pace it has in our first three
years of existence, we decided that a move to our new 2800 square foot facility
in the city of Brea would be the appropriate next step for our company.
The ONE negative effect of our move is the lack of
visibility for our shop. Currently, the
shop is in a VERY HIGH TRAFFIC area of Orange County where people
walking/driving through Downtown Fullerton can easily spot us. The location has been key in our growth and
our ability to attract new customers, so we are truly counting on our Footage
friends/family to continue spreading the word about us and our new
not-so-visible new location! We have stated
previously that we’ve never put a huge emphasis on marketing because we
sincerely believe our business will continue to flourish as long as we provide
our customers with the best service we possibly can. The most effective marketing tools we have
are professionalism, flexibility, options, and customer service, which in turn will hopefully
lead to referrals.
We are SO STOKED for everyone to see what kind of changes
the move brings. First major change will
be the upgrading of our apparel consignment.
Though we currently accept apparel consignment, most of our consignors
are aware that we have been reluctant to accept them because our preference has
always been to focus our time on listing sneakers. THAT WILL NO LONGER BE THE CASE! The new shop will gladly accept your Supreme,
Hundreds, Stussy, Nike merchandise (along with many others) for
consignment! A separate photographer
will be assigned to handle apparel once we move, so better quality photographs can
be taken, better descriptions can be stated, and merchandise measurements can
be provided when items are listed on eBay.
Our new store-front will also have most of the consigned non-sneaker
merchandise on display. We are certain
these changes will lead to a much more enjoyable one-stop shopping experience
for our in-store customers and increase sales to our online customers, which
leads to happier consigners with more money in their pockets!
Now comes the fun part!
The new shop will be equipped with a basketball half-court and ping pong
tables for some of our Footage family to utilize. We intend to host small tournaments as well! We are also hoping we have enough space for a
badminton court. Some of you don’t know
about badminton……extremely underrated sport haha! The huge warehouse space will allow us to
host mini-summits for the local sneakerheads to hang out, chat, and
buy/sell/trade shoes amongst piers without having to pay any sort of cover or
table charge! We have also arranged for
some of the local dance teams to utilize our facility for their practices! Lastly, we will be sure to offer refreshments
for customers who come to visit us, so come thirsty…..sorry, no alcohol! =)
We intend to start moving mid October and hope to be moved
to our new facility by early November.

support us. We know you have numerous
options for consignment and we definitely are not the biggest in the
business. However, when it comes to the
lowest consignment rates (10% in-store), multiple
buy-back/trade/consignment/cash-advance options, and dedication to our
customers…..we feel like we can compete with anyone. Thank you so much and we hope you continue to
